If you know about the Ness Card1, you know that it’s the best (and only) card that gets you 5x points on all purchases at healthy merchants.2 But if you’re really in the know, you’re hip to the not-so-secret secret about the Ness Card: It also gets you 2x points everywhere else you swipe, tap, or subscribe.
That’s a big deal. Other cards only give you one cent per dollar, but we double that. This makes your points add up fast, no matter what you buy.
In other words, it’s smart to spend with Ness. When you use your Ness Card to buy anything, it helps you gain more points that you can use in our healthy rewards marketplace—even if the things you bought are not (technically) “healthy.”
Just To Confirm: What Counts for 2x Points on the Ness Card?
The Ness Card has two point multipliers: 5x (for all purchases at healthy merchants) and 2x (everywhere else you make purchases). If you’re not getting 5x points, you’re getting 2x points. We keep it simple because we think that’s how all card points, rewards, and benefits should be.
Here are some examples of how you can utilize 2x-point purchases on your Ness Card. (Pro tip: Bookmark this page and use it as a checklist as you transfer your spend to the Ness Card. It takes a tiny bit of effort, but it’ll pay off!)
Recurring Payments
Set-it-and-forget-it monthly, quarterly, weekly, or yearly payments. (We’ll get all the -lys). Sure, you’re already putting your gym membership and Seed subscription on your Ness Card—but these 2x recurring purchases will get you a lot of points, too:
- Phone bills
- Internet bills
- Utilities
- Newspaper (and crossword) subscriptions
- Magazine subscriptions
- Patreon subscriptions
- Substack subscriptions
- Starbucks and Dunkin’ app reloads
- Spotify, Apple Music, and Tidal (people use Tidal, right?)
- TV streaming services (A show that makes you worry about your cordyceps consumption is not technically wellness, but we support you using your Ness Card to pay for the platform that lets you watch it)
- Cable (vintage!)
- Childcare (daycare, preschool, pre-K—if you’re able to use a credit card, it pays to use your Ness Card)
- Clothing rental subscriptions
- Rent
Big One-time Buys:
Necessary splurges. Yeah, using your Ness Card on that new Peloton (from the Peloton website) is a great way to get 5x points. But you can also use your Ness Card to get 2x points on:
- Furniture
- Cars
- Phones
- Tablets
- Smartwatches
- TVs
- Computers and laptops
- Engagement rings & wedding bands
- Home office setups (why are good chairs so expensive?)
Occasional (Or Not) Purchases:
Those things you do sometimes. Or maybe all the time, depending on where you are in life. In addition to that wellness retreat, you can put these on your Ness Card for 2x points:
- Plane tickets
- Train tickets
- Bus tickets
- Boat tickets
- Buying a boat
- Airline wifi
- Live music concerts and festivals
- Theater (movie or stage!)
- Comedy shows
- Amusement park visits
- Happy hours
- Way-pricier-than-you-expected bar tabs
- Breweries
- Rideshare services
- Tax services
- Non-athletic clothing
We love 2x-point hacking. If you’ve used your Ness Card in some, ahem, off-label ways, let us know—we might add it to the list.
